Between Brooklyn, in New York, and Gennevilliers, a working class neighborhood of Paris, how does one raise a family in the "inner cities". The main
characters are two mothers, Rose, 35, an Haitian immigrant, and Nejma, 29, of Algerian origin. They have in common the French language and the fact of having struggled to raise their
families in "ghettos". Rose and
Nejma help each other - and help us -understand the distress that they have gone through. And from their
"encounter" arise both intense and happy moments. |
