| Heinz and Renate live in Berlin, Bernard and Regine in Marseille. They all grew up at a time of militant passions and lofty ideals. But the collapse of the Wall signalled a change in all that. They witnessed the death of communism, the limits of liberalism and socialism.
Over three days, the two couples confront their way of life within bewildered societies. Without yielding to pessimism, they speak about themselves, about their children, and - because they cannot live without them - about their hopes...
