| "The Earth, the Indians and us" brings two Native Americans face to face. One, Jacques Kurtness, is a "Montagnais" Indian from Lake Saint Jean in Canada, in the far North. The other, Luis Llanquilef, a "Mapuche" Indian from Chile, grew up at the southern tip of America. He now lives in France where he defends the rights of his people before international organizations. Their encounter, through "Vis à Vis", creates a single native vision about the future of the planet and the confrontation with the white world, in France, in Canada and in Chile. The program's final word is that of Jacques: "I would like people to understand that what's happening to Indians in the Americas can happen to their own culture, and the way they are treating Indians and Nature, the Earth will answer back in kind...." |
